TEREA Green, Green Zing and Black Green: the mint family compared, with Dubai prices

Four green and mint sticks from the Indonesian, Uzbek and Kazakh editions. What each one tastes like, how cold it is, and what a carton costs in Dubai.

The four green sticks we stock

We stock four sticks in the green family. TEREA Green (Indonesia) is AED 109 a carton, strength 3 of 5, cooling 4 of 5. TEREA Green (Uzbekistan) is AED 113, strength 3, cooling 3. TEREA Green Zing (Kazakhstan) is AED 113, strength 2, cooling 2. TEREA Black Green (Indonesia) is AED 109, strength 4, cooling 5.

Green: the straight mint

The Indonesian Green is the straight mint stick of the range: a clean spearmint lift over light tobacco, cold on the inhale and dry on the exhale, with none of the sweetness the capsule flavours carry. The cooling builds slowly through the session instead of hitting all at once. The Uzbek edition is built on a lightly toasted tobacco base with a balanced green mint, and sits in the middle of the scale.

Green Zing: lime and green tea

Green Zing is not a mint stick. It opens on lime citrus, and a herbal green-tea note comes through the middle of the draw. The light menthol sits underneath and keeps the finish clean rather than cold. It is the lightest of the four, and the one to try if you find the mint sticks too sharp.

Black Green: the coldest of the four

Black Green takes the mint of Green, raises the cooling from 4 to 5 of 5, and puts it over a darker, heavier tobacco base. The first draw is ice-cold and the tobacco arrives a second later. The throat hit is strong, so it is not the best first flavour for someone new to heated tobacco. For a colder menthol, TEREA Turquoise and TEREA Oasis Pearl are also rated 5 of 5 for cooling.

Which one to choose

Pick Green if you smoked a menthol pack and want that cool back without fruit. Pick Green Zing if you want something fresh and herbal without a heavy menthol hit. Pick Black Green if you say normal menthol is not cold enough. The Uzbek Green is the one for smokers who want a moderate mint stick over a tobacco base.
