Which ILUMA devices do you sell in the UAE?

We stock the current ILUMA i line: ILUMA i One at AED 179, ILUMA i Standard at AED 289, ILUMA i Prime at AED 399. All three arrive in sealed retail boxes. We do not sell the discontinued original ILUMA, ILUMA ONE or ILUMA PRIME.

Can HEETS be used in an ILUMA?

No. Every ILUMA and ILUMA i heats by induction and takes TEREA sticks only. HEETS are made for older blade devices such as the IQOS 3 DUO. A TEREA stick has no blade slot and a HEETS stick has no metal core, so neither one works in the other's device.

Do TEREA sticks work in the original ILUMA?

Yes. Every TEREA we sell works in any ILUMA or ILUMA i, whichever market the carton was made for. The i generation did not change the stick and did not strand anyone's cartons.

Every device on this page heats the same way. SMARTCORE induction warms a metal core sealed inside a TEREA stick, so there is no blade, no residue and nothing to clean — in the original ILUMA exactly as much as in the newest ILUMA i. The differences between the six models are format, screen and shell. None of them is about heat, and none of them changes which stick fits.

The original ILUMA generation

ILUMA, ILUMA ONE and ILUMA PRIME introduced induction heating and got that part right. If one of these is in your pocket, nothing on this page says you need to replace it — every TEREA carton we sell works in it exactly as it works in the newest model.

The first all-in-one induction device. One body, no separate holder, a button to start heating and an LED strip for battery. Superseded by the ILUMA i One.

ILUMA i vs ILUMA — what did the “i” change?: Four things, none of them heat: a touchscreen on the Standard and Prime, Pause Mode, FlexPuff, and Auto-start. Heating, session length, stick compatibility and taste are identical between the generations. If your original ILUMA works, nothing about the i generation makes your cartons obsolete.
ILUMA ONE vs ILUMA — one piece or two?: The ONE is a single body you pick up and use. The ILUMA is a holder plus a pocket charger, so the holder tops up between sessions and heavy use never waits on one battery. The ONE is simpler and smaller; the two-piece suits ten-plus sessions a day.
ILUMA vs ILUMA PRIME — is the Prime worth it?: Electronically they are the same device. The Prime adds an aluminium body and a fabric-wrapped door. That is the whole difference, in both generations. Buy it because you will hold it twenty times a day and want it to feel right, not because you expect it to perform better.
ILUMA i One vs ILUMA ONE — worth upgrading?: The i One adds Auto-start, so heating begins as you lift it instead of after a button press. Everything else — one-piece format, LED indicator, same heating, same sticks — carries over. It is a small change, and it is the only change.
ILUMA i One vs ILUMA i Standard — where the money goes: The Standard adds the touchscreen, Pause Mode and FlexPuff, and splits into a holder plus charger. If your sessions get interrupted three or four times a day, Pause Mode alone recovers roughly a pack a month. If they do not, the i One does the same job for AED 110 less.
ILUMA i Standard vs ILUMA i Prime — what the extra buys: Aluminium and a fabric door. Same heating, same session, same Pause Mode, same FlexPuff, same touchscreen. The AED 110 difference is materials and finish, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up as performance.
ILUMA vs HEETS — why they never mix: That is a device-versus-stick comparison, and the answer is that they belong to different eras. Every ILUMA and ILUMA i heats by induction and takes TEREA. HEETS are blade-era sticks for devices like the IQOS 3 DUO. A TEREA has no blade slot and a HEETS has no metal core, so neither works in the other's device.

IQOS has released the ILUMA family in a long run of finishes and limited editions across different markets, and which of them ever reached the UAE varies. Rather than list colours we cannot supply, here is exactly what we hold across the three ILUMA i models:

All finishes of a given model are the same price and the same device underneath. The brighter ones move faster, so name the finish you want at the start of the message rather than at the end.

Using and looking after an ILUMA

Cleaning an ILUMA — there is nothing to clean

This is the part that surprises anyone arriving from a blade device. Induction heating never touches the tobacco, so no residue reaches the chamber and there is no cleaning routine, no cleaning sticks and no monthly deep clean. Pull the used stick straight out — it comes away clean and cool. If the outside picks up dust from a pocket, a dry cloth is the whole maintenance story.

Starting a session

Slide a TEREA stick in until the printed line meets the rim. On any ILUMA i, lift the device and Auto-start begins heating; on the original generation, press and hold the button. Around twenty-five seconds later it is ready, and the session runs roughly six minutes or fourteen puffs, whichever arrives first.

Pause Mode — ILUMA i Standard and i Prime only

Pause Mode stops a session mid-stick and holds it, so an interruption does not throw the rest of that stick away. It is one of the four things the i generation added, and it is not on the ILUMA i One or on any original ILUMA. If your day gets interrupted three or four times, this is the feature that pays for the step up.

What the lights mean

On the LED models the indicator reports battery and session state rather than faults: a steady band while heating, a full band when the session is ready, and a low band when the charge is nearly gone. The touchscreen models on the i Standard and i Prime replace all of that with a number, which is the main reason people stop guessing at patterns after they upgrade.

Resetting, firmware and the app

A device that stops responding is almost always a flat battery rather than a fault — charge it fully before anything else. Firmware and any reset routine are handled by Philip Morris through the official IQOS app and their support channels, not by us. We sell sealed retail boxes; anything that needs a warranty claim goes back through IQOS with the box and the code intact.

Covers, cases and rings

Silicone covers, leather sleeves, coloured ring sets and fabric wraps exist for every model in the range, and the ILUMA PRIME silicone cover with a lid is one of the fastest rising searches in this category in the UAE. We do not sell any of them — we sell devices and sticks. Two things worth knowing before you buy one elsewhere: a cover made for the original ILUMA will not fit an ILUMA i, because the bodies differ, and anything that blocks the charging contacts will stop the holder topping up in the pocket charger.

Which sticks fit an ILUMA

TEREA, and only TEREA — in every ILUMA and every ILUMA i, whichever market the carton was made for. HEETS belong to the blade era and will not heat in any of these devices, because a HEETS stick has no metal core to induct.
