August does something unkind to menthol. By ten in the morning the air is thick enough that a light mint stick reads as almost nothing, and the cooling you paid for simply doesn't register. Storing a carton in this climate

Heated tobacco sticks like heat and humidity no more than the rest of us do. Keep the carton indoors and sealed, away from a sunlit windowsill, and don't leave packs in a parked car in Al Barsha — a closed cabin sits well above 60 degrees by mid-afternoon and the sticks dry out. A cupboard at room temperature is plenty. A fridge isn't necessary and only invites condensation. Humidity is the quieter problem here. A pack left open on a Marina balcony overnight in September comes back softer than it went out, and softened sticks tend to pull unevenly in the chamber, so leave the foil seal intact until that pack actually goes into rotation.

Carry two or three packs at a time and leave the rest of the 200 sticks boxed.
